Amid Threats From Washington, Kupec Remains Focused On Protecting Rural Medicine
Heading into the election, Kupec remains focused on fighting for EMS funding and protecting rural healthcare

MOORHEAD, MN — Yesterday, Senators Rob Kupec (SD4), Lindsey Port (SD55), and Majority Leader Erin Murphy (SD64) met with residents, healthcare professionals, and local leaders for a roundtable discussion on rising healthcare costs and the impact of federal healthcare cuts on communities across Greater Minnesota.
Throughout his first term, Kupec has worked to strengthen healthcare access across SD4, securing critical EMS funding, supporting rural nursing homes through gap funding, and helping establish a rural hospital stability fund in 2026. As Greater Minnesota faces growing healthcare challenges, including Medicaid cuts under the federal “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” Kupec remains committed to protecting Minnesotans’ access to quality and affordable care wherever they live.
“Trump is following through on his promise to dismantle affordable healthcare,” said Kupec. “Make no mistake, these healthcare funding cuts are a direct result of federal cuts to Medicaid and other critical programs that Minnesotans need. At the Capitol I will continue to fight these harmful policies and ensure our district has access to quality, affordable healthcare. That means Minnesotans can stay insured, fighting for fair prescription drug prices, stabilizing rural EMS, and making sure we can access quality care where we live.”
